I began shooting\u00a0photographs in the 1970s, but it wasn&#8217;t until the 2000s that I made a serious effort to develop my photographic knowledge and skills. While I&#8217;ve tried to read widely, I find that the two photographers whose websites I keep coming back to are <a title=\"Thom Hogan\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bythom.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Thom Hogan<\/a> and <a title=\"The Online Photographer\" href=\"http:\/\/theonlinephotographer.typepad.com\/the_online_photographer\/blog_index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Johnston<\/a>\u00a0(The Online Photographer), and I&#8217;d encourage you to visit them for more information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I created all photographs on this weblog (including any background images in the blog\u00a0interface), except where noted otherwise. I shoot primarily with <a title=\"Nikon Australia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nikon.com.au\/en_AU\/products\/categories\/dslr.page?\" target=\"_blank\">Nikon<\/a>\u00a0digital cameras and lenses, and use <a title=\"Adobe Australia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Adobe<\/a> and <a title=\"DxO\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dxo.com\/us\" target=\"_blank\">DxO<\/a> software on\u00a0the <a title=\"Macintosh\" href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/au\/mac\/\" target=\"_blank\">Macintosh<\/a> platform for post-processing.\u00a0I use\u00a0<a title=\"WordPress\" href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">WordPress<\/a>\u00a0to build\u00a0this blog.<\/p>\n<p>I think we&#8217;re\u00a0blessed not only to have such an interesting world to live in and photograph, but to have such a wide range of photographic tools at our\u00a0disposal (far more than was available to photographers in times\u00a0past).
