{"id":2881,"date":"2020-04-12T23:53:20","date_gmt":"2020-04-12T15:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ywo.id.au\/blog\/?p=2881"},"modified":"2020-04-12T23:56:19","modified_gmt":"2020-04-12T15:56:19","slug":"easter-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ywo.id.au\/blog\/2020\/04\/12\/easter-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Easter 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Easter, we find ourselves in the middle of the worldwide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/emergencies\/diseases\/novel-coronavirus-2019\/events-as-they-happen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID-19<\/a> (coronavirus) crisis. Perhaps now more than ever, in the past few years at least, many people are thinking seriously about life and death, and eternity. The risk of becoming infected with COVID-19 is real, and we need to take the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.gov.au\/news\/health-alerts\/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">appropriate precautions<\/a> to avoid that happening\u2014but the truth is that at any moment, we can be but a breath away from leaving this world and entering the next. This is not to be morbid or fatalistic, but realistic.<\/p>\n<p>I can testify that while I have had a safe and privileged life so far, I have also come close to death a few times. Whether it is a near miss in traffic or a dire (but thankfully, temporary) medical situation, as time passes by, I realise more and more how fragile this existence can be.<\/p>\n<p>Today is the commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But in a time such as this, who is Jesus? This question was addressed in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/10ZiCR_0sQ948qTRaplIMzwEDKaWRITv6\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recently preached sermon<\/a>\u00a0(20 MB) at my church\u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/erbcperth.church\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Emmanuel Reformed Baptist Church<\/a>.
