First Tae Kwon Do students returned to training this month, and the first senior training session for the year was held recently. Amongst other exercises, senior students and black belt members practised various breaking techniques.

Students generally start to practise breaking with plastic re-breakable boards, then move on to pine boards, and eventually to roof tiles.

Breaking techniques demand absolute concentration and determination, as well as physical strength and skill. Each of the First Tae Kwon Do members pictured above has trained for at least five or so years, and in some cases, they have trained for more than 10 years.
