I am an amateur photographer in Perth, Western Australia. I began shooting photographs in the 1970s, but it wasn’t until the 2000s that I made a serious effort to develop my photographic knowledge and skills. While I’ve tried to read widely, I find that the two photographers whose websites I keep coming back to are Thom Hogan and Mike Johnston (The Online Photographer), and I’d encourage you to visit them for more information.

I created all photographs on this weblog (including any background images in the blog interface), except where noted otherwise. I shoot primarily with Nikon digital cameras and lenses, and use Adobe and DxO software on the Macintosh platform for post-processing. I use WordPress to build this blog.

I think we’re blessed not only to have such an interesting world to live in and photograph, but to have such a wide range of photographic tools at our disposal (far more than was available to photographers in times past). Let’s make the most of it!
